Personal Training
Private one-on-one training built around an initial assessment, so we can meet specific goals.
Muscle Activation Techniques
Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT)® act as a powerful muscular assessment tool to analyze and correct muscular imbalances. MAT is based on the idea that flexibility comes from strength, and tight muscles are secondary to weak ones.
Through MAT, the trainer will target the cause of your muscular imbalance by testing, correcting, and maintaining your muscle contractile efficiency.
Nutritional Programming
Gain a better understanding of nutrition and macro counting with our comprehensive diet plans and nutritional counselling.
Massage Therapy
Our massage therapist treats people of all ages to relieve stress, pain, and physical discomfort. Massage therapy involves manual manipulation to treat soft tissue injuries and minimize tension in the body. Through a combination of therapeutic techniques such as cupping and relaxation massage, massage therapy at Built Strong can get you ready to train and improve the overall quality of your life.
Fascial Stretch Therapy
Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is a gentle treatment that is designed to help clients relax their nervous system and lengthen their tissues. As opposed to isolated muscle treatment, FST focuses on treating the connective tissue system of the muscles. By focusing on the tissue that connects and wraps around your muscles, nerves, and organs, FST improves nerve mobility and the flexibility of your muscles and fascia.
Athletic Therapy
At Built Strong, athletic therapy isn’t just for athletes. Regardless of your age or fitness level, athletic therapy can help with injury prevention, emergency care, assessment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning of musculoskeletal injuries. It can also be beneficial for concussion management.
After an assessment of your needs, we’ll use a range of rehabilitative tools to treat your injury.
Such tools include soft tissue massage, taping or bracing, education, and several options of therapeutic modalities. We’ll also create a personalized exercise program that is tailored to your goals.
This will help you continue your rehabilitation outside of the clinic, which usually reduces recovery time and the chance of further injury. And while the treatments may vary, our goal is always the same: Getting patients back to doing what they love!
Concussion Management from Athletic Therapist
Those who are suffering from a concussion or post-concussion symptoms (PCS) may find relief with the help of our athletic therapist, Nicole Antosh.
Nicole is a concussion specialist who uses early intervention of care to get the best results for patients. She has a variety of treatment methods, including guided exercise plans, manual therapy, vestibular and vision therapy, and adjustments to diet and nutrition. She also offers baseline testing for sports teams prior to the start of a season.
Team Training
Strength and conditioning coaches are available in-season to train sports teams. Our coaches will ensure you’re ready for the game with effective joint stability, conditioning, strengthening, injury prevention, sport specific movement patterns, and team building.
Mobility Coaching
Your mobility impacts all aspects of your life, including your athletic training. In addition to unlocking your body’s full potential, good mobility is crucial to longevity and injury prevention as you workout. Our mobility specialist will help you improve your mobility by focusing on the range of motion in your muscles and joints. This is the foundation for health benefits that will extend beyond the Built Strong gym and make it possible for you to achieve your goals.
I've been training at Built Strong since mid-April 2018. For the past year and a half I've trained primarily with Harrison King. He has taught me alot about speed, agility, strength and how hard work in the gym will help me on the ice as a goalie and in my daily life. Harrison is my mentor and like a big brother to me. We've continued to train during the latest restrictions both outside 1 on 1 and online, which has helped me both mentally and physically through it all. I'm so pumped to get back into the gym on February 8th! It truly is my happy place!
